After going through this content, it will help you learn things you can do, processes you can follow, to be able to successfully get admission into AE-FUNAI.

During application

It was in 2018, and I wanted to enroll into a university after waiting for some years. I already had a WAEC and NECO result. So, all I needed was to buy JAMB form, and sit for the exam. I bought the form and finally sat for the exam.

My first choice was University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), second choice was Enugu State University of Science & Technology, and on my third choice, I told the person registering it to add any school there.

During JAMB UTME examination

Before I sat for the main JAMB UTME exam, I wrote JAMB MOCK exam (not compulsory). The reason why I partook, and wrote the JAMB MOCK exam was to test how I’m likely to perform in JAMB main examination. It was really helpful.

When I checked my main JAMB UTME result, I got 216. I wasn’t happy with the outcome, but I have to look for a solution. I had to make reasearch about Federal Universities. During the research, I found out that Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndifu-Alike Ikwo (AE-FUNAI) cut off mark is 180. So, with my JAMB score of 216, I felt there’s hope, and a big chance too.

Change of Institution

I went to a cyber Cafe immediately, and did Change of Institution to Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndifu-Alike Ikwo (AE-FUNAI). I also made the school my first choice. After that, I waited for a while until the school commenced the sale of their PUTME form.

I got the form which costs N2,000. After about a month, I printed my acknowledgement slim (it contains the time and date for my exam). I lived in Enugu. Luckily my exam time was set to 8am.

During AE-FUNAI PUTME screening

I woke up around 5am, prepared, and journeyed to Ebonyi State. It wasn’t hard to locate the school, and before 8am, I was already in the school. I sat for the school’s PUTME exam, and left for Enugu immediately.

Other aspirants, who came from far places, had to squat with someone for a day, get a lodge or sleep in any of the classroom in the school.

When the school’s PUTME result came out, I scored 200. Since the school’s general cut off mark is 180, I didn’t have to panic much. I had to start waiting for admission. Later, I went to a JAMB official center, and re-uploaded my O’ level result. I confirmed that my result was still in the portal, and I went back to continue waiting for admission.

Waiting time for admission

When AE-FUNAI started offering admission, I had to check my JAMB CAPS twice, but there was no admission yet. I tried checking it the 3rd time after few weeks and that was when I saw ‘Accept’ and ‘Reject’. I noticed that I have been finally offered admission. Was a bit shocked it came earlier than expected.

What  I did was to quickly read, and accept the admission on JAMB CAPS, and of course I was happy about that.

After few days, I quickly started my registration, and commenced lectures too. That’s it.
