Summary of Ogadimma Diary of a Housemaid
Mabel, who was at the secondary school level was forced to marry Ude. After they gave birth to Ogadimma, his husband couldn’t take care of her. Mabel was frustrated, and had to leave the marriage.
Since Mabel was married to an Igbo man, their tradition states that the child must be with the father as far as he has paid her bride price. When Ogadimma grew up, she was taken to Abuja, where she was serving as a maid.
While serving as a maid, she found her self in prison, including many other challenges. But all these challenges did not stop her from her main focus, which is to become a medical doctor. At the end, she was able to achieve her dream of being a medical doctor.
